Joining help
Can’t Join Rescue Animals? Start Here
First, identify where joining stops: does Roblox fail to open, does the player open and show an error, or are other Roblox services also having problems? Use the matching section below. These are Roblox platform checks, not a claim that Rescue Animals currently has a confirmed bug.
Open the Scratch Labs game page when retrying, so you are testing the same experience each time.
Roblox will not open after Play
- Restart your computer, then try the game page again. Roblox lists rebooting as its first desktop troubleshooting step.
- If the browser asks which application should open the game, choose Roblox. If Roblox Player is not installed, follow the installation prompt from Roblox’s website.
- If the browser still cannot launch the player, update your browser or try another current browser, such as Edge, Firefox or Chrome.
Keep the exact message if the site repeatedly asks you to install an already installed player. Include that launch symptom when reporting the problem. See the official desktop help and installation guide.
The player opens, but joining fails
Read the complete message and keep the error code before changing settings. A connection failure, a Roblox version problem and a private-server permission issue need different checks.
Error 279 or ID 17: check the connection
Roblox associates 279/ID 17 with difficulty establishing a network connection between the app and its servers.
Try another internet connection you are allowed to use, then retry the same game. On a computer using Wi-Fi, a wired connection can help check whether the wireless connection is involved. If launching through a browser, use an up-to-date browser.
If the failure continues, follow the instructions for your device in Roblox's 279/ID 17 guide. Its general connection guide provides additional checks. Do not assume that a permission change will fix a network error.
Error 280: check your Roblox installation
Roblox identifies 280 as a problem with the Roblox version running on your device. It is not a Rescue Animals update announcement.
Close Roblox, update it through your device's official installation channel, and try opening the game again. If the message remains, use the device-specific reinstall instructions in Roblox's 280 guide.
Error 524: check the server you are trying to join
Roblox describes 524 as a join-permission error with several possible causes. If you followed a private-server invitation, ask the owner to check that your username has access.
You can review your existing preference under Settings → Privacy and content restrictions → Visibility & private servers → Private servers. You do not need to broaden your privacy settings just to investigate the message. Roblox's support article also states that accounts under 13 can join only private servers created by their friends.
Use Roblox's 524 guide for the applicable conditions. This error alone does not establish that Rescue Animals requires Scratch Labs community membership.
These are Roblox platform troubleshooting paths, not confirmation of a current Rescue Animals bug or a guaranteed fix. If your message is different, keep its exact wording for the support report described below.
Check for a Roblox incident
Open Roblox Status and read any current notice affecting joining or the player. If Roblox reports a relevant incident, wait and try again later. Roblox’s outage guidance explains that incidents can interrupt joining. This page is not a live outage monitor.
On a phone or tablet
Close and reopen Roblox, then restart the device if necessary. Follow the instructions for iOS or Android. Both guides also recommend checking that the device’s date and time are accurate. These links cover the Roblox app; they do not confirm this experience’s device support.
Still unable to join?
Send Roblox Support your username, exact error, device model, operating-system version and steps that reproduce the problem. Include the game link, what you tried, and any recent device or network changes. This gives support a useful starting point without guessing the cause.
